Today's the day!!!

With a happy, smiley face on the ovulation prediction stick the night before, we're ready to go. Insemination was set for 10:30am at 11:30am, the procedure was complete. Morgan and I had a tear-filled, hope-filled appointment--- wishing only the best for those 10 million swimmers to find that egg! We spent the rest of the day together, sending good vibes to our "situation."

A missed trip to Puerto Rico...

Due to unfortunate circumstances, namely 5 feet of snow, we were unable to fly to Puerto Rico for our cousins' wedding in Puerto Rico. With tickets and accomodations in place, hanging out with family, seeing our cousins get married, and the prospect of warm weather, we were very disappointed. Hours of problem-sovling with US AIRWAYS and weighing out pros and cons of driving to Philadelphia at 12am, we were still stuck at home. But due to these circumstances, we were able to get our much-needed paperwork signed for our upcoming insemination (which included a notary). This could never have happened if we left. The week we were returning from our trip coincidentally was the same week I was due to ovulate. The universe works in mysterious ways!

How it all started...

We have been talking about starting a family since... oh I don't know... date #1. :) When we met, we were both 29 and knew what we wanted for our future. We knew one day we would start a family. Last summer, we attempted starting our family with Morgan, but the universe had other plans for us. We had a few failed attempts, then Morgan was offered a new position with Equality Maryland. Given all the demands for the job, it was a blessing in disguise that we were not successful. When Morgan accepted the new position, we knew, it was time for me (Rae) to have the first child. I immediately went off the pill and we started prepping me for "the procedure." Which then leads us to strange twists of fate and a missed trip to Puerto Rico:(
